Rehearsals for concert on Saturday 24th February 2024

Details for Friday and Saturday
Friday 23rd February at St. Alban’s, from 7pm
LAURIDSEN FOLLOWED BY DVORAK
Please arrive quietly, as there will be Stations of the Cross again from 6.30. We need to start as soon as we can after 7.00, but thank you for your patience whilst waiting to gain access to the church.

Please arrive in good time in case you need to park down the road and walk. Remember there are two car parks, one at either side of the church, as well as space on the main road and side roads.

Please be ready to sit in the same arrangement as we had for the Lauridsen last week. Choir, hopefully there will be more of you there this time, so please be sensible about fitting into the space.

ASAP after 7.00: Lauridsen
8.20 ish – 9.30:  Dvořák

Apologies for running slightly over last Friday; I lost track of time in the hope of getting to the end of the piece.

Saturday 24th February at St. Alban’s, from 4pm
Top and tail of both pieces. Exact timings will depend on priorities emerging from Friday evening. The better we do on Friday, the less we will have to do on Saturday.

4.00: Lauridsen
4.45/4.50 ish: Dvorak
Finishing around 5.30 (5.45 if absolutely necessary) to give people chance to rest.

Thanks to Ian F for his message regarding the break: Food may be eaten in the church. Hot water will be available for drinks.

Meeting in the church no later than 6.40 for a 7.00 start. Bear in mind parking will be at a premium in the evening, so if you are leaving and coming back again, give yourself plenty of time.

Please note that the concert will begin at 7.00, and will be over by about 9.00, to allow for the church to be organised ready for the Sunday morning service afterwards.

Concert dress: black trousers or skirt, with a plain coloured top.

If you would like to wear blue or yellow, as a nod to the colours of the Ukraine flag, please do so, but please don’t feel you have to buy anything new. Other colours are acceptable.  A jacket or cardigan is fine in black, or a plain colour.

Publicity: we will have posters and flyers available at the remaining rehearsals for you to take and distribute. We have spotted that there is another concert in aid of Ukraine on the same night, at Hull Minster. Please spread the word about our concert, which is free to all, with a collection for Hull 4 Ukraine.

You can download a pdf of our poster here. Please distribute.
