Rehearsal dates
Saturday 19th September at Cottingham Civic Hall
10.30 – 12.00: Choir in the Oak Room
Focusing on the non-orchestral items, including Lauridsen mvt 3 (O nata lux) but including looking at other Lauridsen movements if time
12.00 – 12.45 (or slightly later): Choir and Orchestra – Lauridsen reduced instrumentation to rehearse all movements
Please set up according to the Lauridsen seating plan below
Players not involved in Lauridsen: please arrive for 12.45 but be prepared to sneak in quietly in case we haven’t quite finished
Full orchestra – continuing in main hall until 2.00
Starting with Gershwin, moving on to Bernstein, and anything else we have time for
Saturday 26th September, 2.00 – 5.00 pm at Trinity Methodist Church
Proposed schedule, though this may be slightly amended after we see how we get on this Saturday. Please arrive in good time for your slot, given that this is a rough guess at timings and we need to remain flexible to the needs on the day.
Please be patient if you are not involved in everything – because of the varying orchestration across the programme, it is inevitable that some people will be sitting twiddling their thumbs at some point.
We will build in a break before the Lauridsen.
2.00 – 2.20 Fanfare for the Common Man
2.20 – 3.00 Gershwin
3.00 – 3.45 all other orchestral items, starting with Bernstein
3.45 – 4.30 Lauridsen
4.30 – 5.00 Over the Rainbow, Sing gently, O nata lux from the Lauridsen
Friday evening 2nd October from 7.00 pm at Trinity Methodist Church
Running in programme order to try out movement logistics
Saturday 3rd October
Some time in the afternoon – to be negotiated with the church and will depend on our progress in the next couple of rehearsals
Concert starts at 7 pm
